WHY MASCHERANO DID NOT LEAVE

Juventus’ last transfer campaign didn’t work out as planned.

The Bianconeri needed a leader for their team’s midfield, and also for the dressing room, and Barcelona 32-year old Javier Mascherano was their main target. In June, the Jefecito was just one step away from the Serie A defending champions after his agent had met a couple of times with Juventus executives.

MESSI IS A DISTRACTION

According to Edgardo Bauza, because Lionel Messi is the player the opposition teams feel the most threatened by while playing Argentina, they put extra attention on him and a couple of players always try to keep him surrounded which means his teammates get a bit of freedom and that they should take advantage of.

Ten weeks back, having remained inches away from Copa America trophy, Messi had hanged his Argentina kit out of anger and grief, but, the bizarre decision always had to be reconsidered at some point and the reconsideration resulted in an overturn with the legend agreeing to serve his country for a bit longer.

Javier Mascherano and Neymar have a bad relationship?

Recent rumors have been spreading around claiming that Javier Mascherano has called his fellow teammate Neymar as someone who is selfish and they have now developed a negative relationship.

Javier Mascherano is believed to have slammed Neymar after Barcelona was knocked out from the Champions League.

Towards the 2nd half of the season, Neymar turned into a target of criticism as the Brazilian player was being blamed as one of the main reasons of why Barcelona lost a significant amount of points in the final months of the Spanish League as well as from the elimination from the Champions League.

"Stop being so selfish, think more about the team," Mascherano had yelled at Neymar after losing against Athletic Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Javier Mascherano believes that Barcelona should have performed well at the Camp Nou

Javier Mascherano believes that Barcelona should have performed well at the Camp Nou against Atletico Madrid.

The Catalan club were knocked out of the Champions League after a 3-2 defeat on aggregate. Even though Atletico were on top in the first half of the first leg, Barcelona came back strongly in the second half although they were helped by the red card to striker Fernando Torres. Barcelona scored two goals to finish the game 2-1. This was seen as a strong result at home despite conceding the away goal. Yet, the latter proved to be the decisive aspect in the tie.

Javier Mascherano says that Barcelona are feeling confident

Javier Mascherano says that Barcelona are feeling confident about their hopes of reaching the Champions League semi-final.

The club secured a 2-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the first leg at the Camp Nou. However, there have been several warning signs about the club’s poor form in recent weeks. Following the recent loss in the El Clasico to Real Madrid, Barcelona could have easily lost this game had it not been for the referee sending-off Fernando Torres with 30 minutes left in the game. Hence, there is a feeling that Atletico may give a much tougher competition especially since the second leg is at the Vicente Calderon.

Mascherano backs his teammates

In these last few weeks, Barcelona has suffered a string of negative results not only in the Spanish League but also in the Champions League, but despite everything that has been happening Mascherano is confident that his team are still aiming to win all the major trophies of this season.

"We choose to go for all titles. We are the league leaders although the gap has been narrowed. Our current form has not been the best, obviously considering how we were doing.
